Trump praises Roger Stone's 'guts,' slams former lawyer for cooperating with Mueller

Cohen, once one of the president's closest allies and a top executive at The Trump Organization, last week admitted lying in testimony about contacts with powerful Moscow figures over building a Trump Tower in Moscow. In his court statement, Cohen said he had lied "out of loyalty" to Trump and his "political messaging".

Last week Michael Cohen, the president's former longtime personal attorney, confessed to lying to Congress about Trump's business dealings with Russian Federation as part of a plea agreement with Mueller.

In the tweet, Trump asked why Cohen was allowed to get away with "terrible" things "having to do with fraud, big loans, Taxis, etc." - a reference to Cohen's legal trouble around a tax evasion case involving a NY taxi business - without serving a prison sentence. Trump added that Cohen "makes up stories to get a GREAT & ALREADY reduced deal for himself".

Cohen's attorney says his client is a victim who doesn't deserve prison. Trump tweeted on Monday morning.

His sentencing is scheduled for December 12.

Investigators blamed a faulty sensor which they said had been damaged during assembly at the Kazakh site. This is the first manned Russian rocket launch since a dramatic Soyuz failure on October 11.

Trump rattled off a series of tweets in the morning, lamenting the latest news about Michael Cohen, praising Roger Stone for having "guts" (i.e. saying that he will "never testify against Trump"), and calling Mueller "a much different man than people think".

The president's tone about his longtime lawyer has changed in recent months.

"Michael is a businessman for his own account/lawyer who I have always liked & respected". "Sorry, I don't see Michael doing that despite the disgusting Witch Hunt and the dishonest media!"

During a Twitter tear on the Mueller investigation, Mr. Trump cheered on former campaign adviser Roger Stone for resisting to work with the special counsel's team.

Trump described Mueller as a "rogue and out of control prosecutor". "The truth is very bad for their mission!"
