Novak Djokovic overpowers Alexander Zverev for second straight win

Novak Djokovic made it two wins from as many matches at the ATP Finals with a 6-4, 6-1 victory over Alexander Zverev.

Ronaldo got involved in ball kid duties while watching world number one Novak Djokovic's opening match against John Isner of America as the tennis ball bounced into the stands near the first row where he was sitting.

While the O2 Arena has been a happy hunting ground for Djokovic with four of his five ATP Finals titles arriving there, the same can not be said of four-time qualifier Cilic. "I saw he was with his family, I didn't have the opportunity to see him after the match, but I hope to see him at the end of the week", said the Serbian tennis player.

Djokovic lost only four points on his own serve in the first set but what was most worrying for Isner was the way his opponent managed to read his towering delivery, pinging back returns to the baseline with monotonous regularity.

His task now will be to avoid last year's let-down when, after beating Cilic on his debut match, he then lost to Roger Federer and Jack Sock to miss out on the semi-finals. "When you serve well, also it accelerates through the court". "But in the second set it was more easy to read him".

Djokovic, who replaced the injured Rafael Nadal at the top of the rankings last week, has stormed up the charts this year following elbow surgery and a period of indifferent form, winning Wimbledon and the US Open along the way.

Oil markets struggle to find footing after 7% slump
OPEC countries have been vocal about steadying prices by announcing a production cut to the tune of 1 mb/day as early as December. President Donald Trump , who publicly supports low oil prices and who has called on OPEC not to cut production.

For a while at the start of the match it seemed ticket holders might be in for a treat.

Earlier, Zverev kept his nerve at the key moments to beat Marin Cilic 7-6 (7/5), 7-6 (7/1), recovering from a break down in each set.

The German eventually forced the first break points of the match with the score level at 4-4 but Djokovic held after a backhand lob from Zverev drifted inches wide.

There were a total of 78 unforced errors in the contest - with Australian Open finalist Cilic hitting 46 of those - as both players struggled to adapt to the court conditions. So, it's more hard than in other tournaments, so everybody has to kind of find their rhythm in the first match.

Here are some of the best points from the German's victory.
