Five arrested over 'disrespectful' Grenfell Tower model bonfire

Metropolitan Police said five men turned themselves in late on Monday after authorities launched an investigation into the video.

Two of the men are aged 49, while the other individuals are aged 19, 46 and 55.

Another one makes ambulance noises before saying: "That's what happens when they don't pay their rent". By Monday evening, the video was trending in Britain, with thousands expressing shock and disbelief at the insensitivity of the group in the recording.

Police on Tuesday said they arrested five men following an outcry over the burning of a model of London's Grenfell Tower, where 72 people died in a devastating fire past year.

"'Bye, everyone!' jeers one member of the group as the design is carried toward a glowing bonfire". As the flames consumed it, people in the group chanted "help me, help me". The St. George's Cross flag is the flag of England, with the Union flag representing the United Kingdom.

Mayor of London Sadiq Khan also condemned the "sickening" video, describing the Grenfell Tower fire as "one of the most devastating tragedies our city has ever suffered".

The Chinese Foreign Ministry did not give a clear answer when asked about it. She has also been accused of working for Al Qaeda.

The video also drew allegations that it was racist because numerous Grenfell Tower victims were people of immigrant backgrounds and Muslim. It also urged anyone present at the gathering to come forward. "Help me, Jump out the window". "Not only is it extremely upsetting to survivors and people who lost family, it's hateful and offensive to everyone that has been affected". He said he was "frankly appalled" at the "callous nature" of the clip posted on social media, adding that mocking a disaster like this in such a "crude way" was vile.

To intentionally use and mock the Grenfell Tower fire in this way will cause deep pain and offence to the bereaved, survivors, the local community and all of the emergency services who will never forget that night.

"I am very pleased to hear that the authorities are taking the matter very seriously and that an investigation is under way".

The offence can be committed in a public or private place and does not require the person said to have been harassed, alarmed or distressed to be present.

So far, 13 people have been convicted in separate cases, with a total of more than £630,000 in bogus claims for money that was meant for those whose lives had been devastated. Over a year on from the incident, many are still demanding answers.
