Dominic Raab Branded 'Disgrace' Over Sunday Times Brexit Interview Comments

Rees-Mogg launched a tirade against May and her draft at the British Parliament, submitting a letter of no-confidence against the Prime Minister.

She said: 'I have always had realistic expectations of what the deal would look like because it was an incredibly hard thing to negotiate.

However, no announcement came officially from the 1922 Committee, and May loyalists have said that she would fight any efforts to unseat her, with others saying that a majority of Conservative MPs would ultimately vote to keep her as party leader.

In an effort to seize control of the political agenda, Mrs May named a junior official, Mr Stephen Barclay, as Brexit Secretary after Mr Dominic Raab quit the role.

Mr Barnier pitched to EU27 ambassadors for approval for his plans to offer Britain an extended transition period that would expire on December 30 2022 as he works to add the finishing touches to the controversial withdrawal agreement with Theresa May.

Raab said: "If we can not close this deal on reasonable terms we need to be very honest with the country that we will not be bribed and blackmailed or bullied and we will walk away".

"There is still more to be done and we do still have more time before the EU Council at the end of the month so I'm absolutely committed to getting the Brexit that 17.4 million people voted for", she added.

Hardline Brexiteers within her own Conservative Party, meanwhile, are also unimpressed and have suggested the proposed deal could trap the United Kingdom into the customs union forever, effectively forcing it to indefinitely accept EU regulations moving forward.

The draft agreement envisions Britain leaving the European Union as planned on March 29, but remaining inside the bloc's single market and bound by its rules until the end of December 2020.

Pence to be on the 2020 ticket, faulted the newspaper for not asking him before publishing the story. A typical New York Times phony story. "The president and I are very close", Pence said.

Four UK ministers holding key posts such as UK's Brexit negotiator Raab handed in their letters of resignation on Thursday citing differences with the draft deal.

That will serve to guarantee that the border between the UK's Northern Ireland and European Union member Ireland remained free of customs checkpoints after Brexit.

Another ex-cabinet minister and close ally of Mrs May, the former first secretary of state Damian Green, said a leadership change would be "absurd".

But the pair and three other cabinet Eurosceptics - Andrea Leadsom, Penny Mordaunt and Chris Grayling - were meeting over the weekend to try and force May to change her Brexit plans, the BBC and The Daily Telegraph newspaper reported.

Mrs May said that as far as she was aware, a formal challenge to her leadership had not yet gained enough support to trigger a confidence vote.

She said the left-wing Labour main opposition leader Jeremy Corbyn was "playing party politics" with Brexit.

"And it remains the UK Government's intention that Gibraltarian financial services firms continue to have the access to the UK they have today and that any disruption is avoided".

"The biggest risk of no deal is taking a bad deal to the House of Commons ... it is very important to take the action now".
