Racist woman filmed stopping black trying to get into his own apartment

D'Arreion Toles was returning home late from work when Hilary Brooke Thornton, who lived on the third floor of the Elder Shirt Lofts, demanded proof that the gentleman lived in the building.

"Ma'am you are not security". He took the time to record a video supporting Toles.

"If you do [live here], I would like to meet you because you're a neighbor", the woman tells Toles, who then stresses he has no interest. "If you wanna come into my building...you walked up on a street...can you show me the key code into this building?"

"When I noticed an individual that I did not know here, my only thought was to follow directions I had been given by condo association board members repeatedly; and that's to never allow access to anyone that you don't know", she said.

"Into my building", Mueller answered.

"OK, what unit?" Mueller asked.

"Okay, you can be uncomfortable".

Confirming they'd fired the woman, property company TriBeca Luxury apartments said: 'The Tribeca-STL family is a minority-owned company that consists of employees and residents from many racial backgrounds. After reviewing the video Toles posted, the company released a statement saying she was sacked, and that it will "never will stand for racism or racial profiling at our company".

The woman was sacked from her job and her former workplace released a statement saying that she had been "terminated" from the company, reported local outlet KMOV4. "At Tribeca-STL we want all residents, guests and visitors to feel welcome, safe and respected".

Toles filmed the distressing encounter, and can be heard asking the woman to "Please move" on numerous occasions.

Thornton also said Toles forced his way inside after an altercation at the door that wasn't caught on video.

"I am not mad at her", he continued. I wish her the best. I am not going to go after her legally or anything like that. "I'm not going to go after her".
