Nokia 3.1 Plus quick review

Nokia 3.1 Plus quick review

One was the Nokia 8110 4G, a revamp of the iconic banana phone that was first unveiled back at MWC 2018.

With Android One program, it runs on Android 8.1 Oreo OS. The is priced at Rs 11,499 in India.

Finnish company HMD Global that makes Nokia smartphones launched the 3.1 Plus and 8110 4G phone in India on Thursday.

The Nokia 3.1 Plus comes right after the Nokia 6.1 Plus and 5.1 Plus so one would naturally assume that it would bring a similar notched display and all-glass design, but it does not.

Today, manufacturers have been trying different types of smartphone designs - Realme is offering a glass back, Xiaomi and Asus offering metallic back, and so on. On the front side, the phone has an 8MP shooter with f/2.2 aperture and 1.12um. Nokia smartphones have long encouraged digital downtime with the inclusion of Nokia 3310 and 8110 to our range supporting time off from scrolling. The 3.5mm audio socket is placed on the top, and the microUSB port is placed at the bottom.

According to persistent reports, the Nokia 7.1 Plus features a 6.18-inch notched display with Full HD+ resolution of 1080×2280 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19:9. The screen itself is an IPS LCD one with decent viewing angles and punchy colours. As this is our initial impressions, we won't be able to give a detailed reading of the battery life.

Under the hood, the phone is powered by a MediaTek Helio P22 processor. Buyers should, however, expect an update to Android 9 Pie in the near future. Both camera comes with support for live bokeh or Portrait mode for capturing images with blurred background.

The Nokia 8110 4G gets a 2-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, while there is none on the front. I am yet to test the cameras, but I'll talk about it when I review the smartphone soon. Your Nokia 7 Plus will predict and recommend your next action at the moment it's needed the most - whether it's business, music or lifestyle. There is no custom skin, there are no bloatware, and any such additions - you get pure Android experience.

October is proving to be a pretty big month for the Nokia smartphone brand.

Apart from the design, HMD is really highlighting the 3,500mAh battery which the company says will offer a 2-day battery life.

I got the 3GB+32GB variant for review and during my usage (three-four days), the phone performed well in day-to-day tasks, but when it comes to gaming, the phone started showing lags.

With the Nokia 3.1 Plus, HMD Global is stepping in the crowded segment where there are a number of options already.
