Kanye West to meet with Trump, Jared Kushner at White House

In the latest development of the Kanye West saga, the rapper is expected to meet with President Donald Trump and his son-in-law and senior adviser Jared Kushner on Thursday, according to a report in the New York Times.

The meeting, first reported by The New York Times, comes after Kanye's controversial September 29 Saturday Night Live appearance in which he gave an unscripted speech praising the President and denouncing the Democratic Party.

West, a Chicago native, reportedly also wants to address job opportunities for former convicts.

West's wife, reality TV star Kim Kardashian has met with Trump twice to plead for release of prisoners and discuss prison reform efforts.

Why is West meeting with the president?

He also hopes to discuss with Mr. Trump how to increase the number of manufacturing jobs in the Chicago area, where Mr. She went for meetings related to her goal of securing clemency for individuals facing life sentences from nonviolent drug crimes.
