IPhone owners won’t have to pay to watch Apple’s original programming

The new service will go live in the pre-installed TV app on Apple devices, and content owned or created by Apple will be free to view. A Wall Street Journal report, though, noted that only a select few of Apple's original content would get a "TV-MA" rating.

Apple is betting big on its new digital media strategy with a new TV app.

About a week ago a third party analytics firm told us that iOS 12 was already running on 47.54% of compatible Apple devices, a very short time after its release.

For several months now (or maybe even longer), we've been reporting on many big-name stars and filmmakers jumping on board Apple for original TV shows and films. And the reason for that makes sense once you find out exactly how this new original content will be distributed by Apple.

If the content will only be accessible through the "TV" app on Apple devices, that would explain why the tech company isn't too keen to charge a separate fee for access to the content.

Giants expected to part ways with OT Ereck Flowers, report says
The Giants attempted to move him to right tackle this season, but it didn't work. He stayed there until two poor performances to start the season.

While Apple may be doing everything it can to compete with Netflix and Amazon Prime Video, CEO Tim Cook is reportedly only keen funding PG-rated shows and films for the in-development service.

One of the other additions to the "TV" app is it will end up being how users access subscription channels like HBO, Showtime and Starz.

The new version of the "TV" app is still in the works, and it won't be released until sometime early next year, but Apple hasn't confirmed these plans just yet. The report doesn't note if the service will be available on non-Apple devices, and if the company would require you pay if you're watching from a PC, Android or other device.

In the meantime, music encyclopedia service Genius today announced a deal with Apple that will allow Apple Music subscribers to play full songs from Genius' song page.
