Borderlands is making a comeback, this time for VR

Borderlands 2 VR will head to PS4 and PS VR in December, 2K today advised. It's not clear if this ability is somehow related to limitations of the VR combat system, or if it is just something that Gearbox felt like adding to the game due to the way it will enhance combat.

The most noteworthy change, however, is the inclusion of the new BAMF (Bad Ass Mega Funtime) feature.

Experience Virtual Improvements: For the first time ever, players can experience the sublime exhilaration of driving around the Borderlands in first-person perspective - accelerating and steering with the joystick and aiming the vehicle's weapons with their headset. As a result, some of the in-game skills have been adjusted, so characters with resurrection abilities will now have self-healing abilities, or skills to deal extra damage.

Borderlands 2 VR's controls have also been updated to make use of the VR technology, while also giving players the option for a more traditional control scheme.

Banksy pulls off one of the greatest art pranks of all
The graffiti artist Banksy published a video detailing how his now-infamous artwork destroyed itself after being sold at auction . He said the auction house was still "busily figuring out" how the transaction for the now radically altered work will play out.

Also, nothing is known about the upcoming Borderlands 3 as the studio is keeping it under the wrap for time being as the game was not showcased at E3 2018. Burleson dives a bit deeper into some of the VR-conscious changes the team had to make in the full write-up on the PlayStation Blog. Those who pre-order will also get a dynamic theme as a bonus.

While traditionally, Borderlands is best enjoyed in co-op with friends, Borderlands 2 VR will be a single-player experience.

What we can tell you is that the PSVR version of Borderlands 2 will take advantage of the capabilities of the VR medium in some interesting ways.

What do you think of this news? This critically acclaimed and commercially successful shooter brought the world of Pandora to life for the second time back in 2012, and since then it has lived fondly in the hearts and libraries of the series' fans.
