Hurricane Hector forecast to roar by Hawaii this week

Hurricane Hector is expected to pass Hawaii by the middle of the week, although by that time it could weaken into a tropical storm.

Meteorologist Melissa Dye says the southern half of the island should brace for winds of 35 miles per hour (56.3 kph) or higher.

As of 8 p.m. ET Sunday, Hector was located about 1,130 miles east-southeast of South Point, Hawaii, with maximum sustained winds of 140 mph moving west at 14 mph.

Big Island officials are taking precautions in advance of the storm nearing the state.

Forecasters with the National Weather Service say "Hector will cross into the local region from Tuesday night into Thursday, though it remains too early to determine precise impacts on island weather at this time".

"Slow weakening is forecast during the next few days.", the National Hurricane Center said.

Fallout 76 BETA is the full game with progress carried over
And here's the kicker: Progress made in the beta will transfer over to the final game. Fallout 76 is set to launch on November 14, 2018 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.

"However, Hector is expected to still be a major hurricane when it moves into the central Pacific basin", the National Hurricane Center said.

Hawaii's Big Island is preparing for a possible hurricane - while a volcano continues to erupt on its shore.

The Center said high surf and rip currents will be the main threat on beaches and some bands of heavier rain would hit the islands. The Big Island has been coping with three months of Kilauea's volcanic eruptions that have sent lava flowing into some neighborhoods.

Hurricane Hector is now 1,130 miles southeast of Big Island and moving west, according to the NHC's latest advisory.

Two other tropical storms are also spinning in the Pacific: Ileana and John.

So far, lava from Kilauea volcano destroyed buildings and homes causing thousands to evacuate nearby areas, but in mid-July, a lava bomb from the volcano hit a nearby boat and injured 23 people.
