Elon Musk's Boring Company to build tunnel to Dodger Stadium

According to the company, the project will transport people in the neighborhoods outlined above to the stadium in "less than 4 minutes".

Passengers will travel through the tunnel on one of about 100 autonomous electric "skates", each of which can carry between 8 and 16 passengers.

The Dugout Loop, as the project is known, would run under Sunset Boulevard through Echo Park and Silver Lake. - announced plans to build a 3.6-mile tunnel that would go from Los Feliz, East Hollywood to Dodger Stadium.

The Boring Company was founded in December 2016 by Tesla founder Musk, inspired by the traffic problems in Los Angeles. The route's eastern terminus would be on Dodger Stadium property, and the western terminus would be on property purchased by the Boring Company. "Whether it is flying overhead in an aerial transit system or bypassing traffic through an underground tunnel, we are always looking for innovative ways to make it easier for Dodgers fans to get to a game", Tucker Kain, the Dodgers' chief financial officer, said in a statement obtained by USA Today. It's free to sign up! Now, tech billionaire Elon Musk wants to bring his Loop system to the ballpark.

Mourinho hails monster Pogba performance as Man Utd make winning start
Mourinho's elevation of the 25-year-old suggests no-one was more resistant than the manager to a Barcelona bid. Paul Pogba has been named Manchester United captain for their Premier League opener against Leicester.

The Boring Company is proposing three potential routes from Dodger Stadium (at right) to the L.A. Metro Red LIne (at left). The skates would be lowered into the tunnel system, and sent autonomously at speeds of 125 to 150 miles per hour from one terminal to the other. As for the other tens of thousands of people traveling to and from Dodger Stadium?

Musk expects construction on this project would last up to 14 months, though would actually take "likely much less".

"The Boring Company has made technical progress much faster than expected and has chose to make its first tunnel in Los Angeles an operational one, hence Dugout Loop!" it said in its online project description.

Los Angeles mayor Eric Garcetti said he's thrilled to be able to have a privately funded project in a city that already has committed to $120 billion worth of work on 28 projects leading up to 2028, when Los Angeles will host the Summer Olympics. It is now undertaking environmental studies under the California Environmental Quality Act and plans a public scoping meeting on the project at Dodger Stadium at the end of August.
