Trump attacks CNN, NBC and British paper in news conference

Fox News correspondent John Roberts came under fire on Friday after declining to come to the aid of his fellow reporter Jim Acosta after Trump lambasted the journalist and CNN as "fake news".

In a statement provided to The Washington Post, Roberts said Trump's attack on the media was "unfair".

"That's such dishonesty reporting because - of course that happens to be NBC which is possibly worse than CNN, possibly", he declared before answering the question.

"Mr. President since you attacked CNN can I ask you a question?".

Acosta continued the argument: 'Well, sir, if you're going to call us fake news you should take a question'.

"Trump even mentioned because of that Sun "fake news" article as he called it, he apologized to Teresa May and said so at the press conference and she took it very lightly and said, 'oh, it's the press, "' DeLay said.

John Isner loses to eight seed in longest semifinal match at Wimbledon
Standing in her way is 2016 runner-up Angelique Kerber in a repeat of Williams' last match at Wimbledon prior to maternity leave. Anderson became the first South African in the Wimbledon semi-finals since Kevin Curren in 1983 and just the sixth in history.

"I used to work at CNN. Let's go to- Let's go to a real network", said Trump. "John Roberts from Fox, lets go to a real network". Roberts proceeded to ask Trump about US and Russian Federation relations.

"No. No. CNN is fake news I don't take questions - I don't take questions from CNN". The White House correspondent reportedly asked if Trump planned to tell Russian President Vladimir Putin to stay out of USA elections in the future, to which Trump answered "yes".

Roberts responded to the criticism in a statement to Business Insider on Friday.

Roberts also said it was similarly wrong for Trump to call Kristen Welker of NBC News dishonest. She is honest as the day is long. "And she's a total professional because when I saw her this morning I said, "I want to apologize because I said such good things about you", and she said, "don't worry, it's only the press". For the President to call her dishonest is unfair.

Roberts made the remarks after initially being criticized for not immediately defending his fellow journalists when Trump called on him at the United Kingdom conference after insulting CNN. They didn't put it in the headline, I wish they'd put it in the headline. I didn't think they'd put it in, but that's alright.
