The Trumps meet Queen Elizabeth II

Donald Trump has met Queen Elizabeth II at Windsor Castle for a "social visit", during which the pair are expected to share a cup of tea.

Upon greeting The Queen, Trump waited until Queen Elizabeth extended her hand first.

The queen, whose father was on the throne when Donald Trump's Scottish-born mother became a United States citizen in 1942, has hosted 12 United States presidents, missing only Lyndon Johnson.

The President and First Lady did not bow or curtsy, but shook hands with Queen Elizabeth upon greeting her.

While US singer Bette Midler referenced the infamous "pee tape" controversy - in which a British intelligence agent claimed that Trump watched prostitutes urinate on a bed that the Obamas slept in before he was elected president. "She nearly had to dance around him", Ms James said. A Guard of Honour, formed of the Coldstream Guards, gave a Royal Salute and the US National Anthem was played. There are also rules of etiquette for encounters with the queen, although they are less rigid than many believe.

He told the paper: "If you think of it, for so many years she has represented her country, she has really never made a mistake".

Hurricane Chris Strengthens, Stays Well off US Atlantic Coast
There are no coastal watches or warnings in effect, but forecasters said people in Atlantic Canada should monitor the hurricane. A hurricane across the Atlantic may "influence" Britain's hot weather possibly bringing wind and rain next week.

By contrast, Melania Trump to the Queen's right flashes a smile, and the president to the Queen's left smiles even more widely and enthusiastically.

Ahead of the tea, Trump complimented the Queen in the Sun, "I think she represents her country so well".

Royal fans were concerned for the 92-year-old Queen's health after she failed to attend a recent service at St Paul's Cathedral.

The body language expert said the American president also appeared to be trying to feign confidence when he inspected the guard of honour with the Queen.

For her Scottish arrival, Trump wore pointed-toe camel Manolo Blahnik pumps with matching Michael Kors trousers and a green Burberry jacket, all earth-tone items that blended into the tarmac and only helped her show off the expensive handbag, not hide it. You don't see, like, anything embarrassing.

It will not be a prolonged visit, like the one in 1982 that was long enough to allow Ronald Reagan to go horseback riding with the queen.
