Raptors have ‘generated buzz’ in Kawhi Leonard trade market

LeBron James, as many expected, closed his latest Cleveland chapter and took his talents to Hollywood with the Los Angeles Lakers. Kawhi Leonard is still a San Antonio Spur... for now.

But the biggest trade piece in the National Basketball Association remains on the market.

With the 28-year-old now having a year left on his deal, the Spurs have some leverage in that they can choose who they trade Leonard to or keep him for a year where he can then leave as an unrestricted free agent. Pairing him with Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid will definitely make the Sixers one of the top favorite teams to represent the Eastern Conference in the 2019 NBA Finals.

If this is true, all those rumors about the Boston Celtics dealing for Leonard can be put to rest, as Boston wouldn't be interested in acquiring a player who has no desire to be there. According to Keith Pompey of Philly.com, the "most realistic trade package" the Sixers could send to the Spurs includes Dario Saric, Robert Covington, and a future first-round pick.

According to Tim Bontemps of The Washington Post, the Raptors have "generated buzz as a potential destination for (Kawhi) Leonard".

The semi-final also represents a financial mismatch between the riches of England's Premier League and Croatian football. WOW!" His performance against Sweden on Saturday saw him ranked the worse England player on the BBC website.

Well, Raptors general manager Masai Ujiri will have to start with one of either DeMar DeRozan or Kyle Lowry, and then add two or three other pieces.

Naturally, when a player of Leonard's stature becomes disgruntled and consequently available for trade discussions, there are going to be a host of teams competing for his services.

While the Raptors may be making some noise, reports are that the 76ers remain atop Leonard's list.

Last month, it was heavily reported that Leonard wanted out of San Antonio with a preference to move to the Los Angeles Lakers where he could potentially team up with LeBron James, who officially signed his contract Monday.
