Detroit was one of seven finalists vying for a slot to host the Final Four series - other finalists included Houston, Phoenix, Los Angeles, Indianapolis, Dallas, and San Antonio.

Indy previously hosted the Men's Final Four in 1980 (Market Square Arena); 1991, 1997, 2000, and 2006 at the RCA Dome; and 2010 and 2015 at Lucas Oil Stadium.

AT&T Stadium set a Final Four attendance record back in 2014, when the championship and two semi-final games collectively drew a crowd of 158,682. It will be the second time the stadium has hosted the festivities after hosting them in 2017. San Antonio's bid committee, including key members of San Antonio Sports, UTSA, Visit San Antonio, UIW, Alamodome and the City of San Antonio traveled to Boston on July 10 for their final presentation to the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Committee.

"That is a part of the conversation, the bid specifications require a minimum of 70 suites to host the Final Four and it's something we will have to do", said Jenny Carnes, associate executive director at San Antonio Sports. I want to thank and commend the hard work of the San Antonio Local Organizing Committee which includes UTSA, San Antonio Sports, Visit San Antonio, UIW and our City staff.
