Liverpool return to Lyon talks seeking to restructure Fekir deal

Liverpool signed Switzerland winger Xherdan Shaqiri on Saturday in light of the collapse of the Fekir move but Aulas admits that he may yet still leave the club despite improving his relationship with Lyon over the last month.

Sky Sports commentator Martin Tyler has hinted that Liverpool may finally be close to signing Lyon star Nabil Fekir, after a long and sometimes frustrating transfer saga.

Fans tweet Nabil Fekir urging him to join LiverpoolWhat does the future hold for Fekir and Liverpool? Il Romanista say that Liverpool's offer totals over €70m with the 25-year-old expected to earn nearly €6m per year if he makes the move to Anfield.

Results of a medical soon flagged up concerns for Liverpool who opted to pull out of the deal, though Lyon chief Aulas has now admitted things could soon get back on track. "That is what I saw in the media, but I have not been informed", Aulas told French daily Le Progres.

Don't give up, mate. "It was very, very hard with our tires, fighting against people with brand-new tires for sure. But Ferrari boss Maurizio Arrivabene offered a scathing assessment of the Mercedes reaction.

Jurgen Klopp has already been busy in the transfer window this summer.

'His transfer failed in June, but he hasn't been affected by it. Nabil is much closer to Lyon today than he was when we talked to Liverpool. He is focused on the World Cup, and he still has his heart in Lyon.

'Maybe he will go to Liverpool, or another club, but if he stays at Lyon, it will be a great year for him and for us'.

Fekir could be involved for France this afternoon as they take on Croatia in the World Cup final. That's not particularly new as the Brazilian stopper has been linked with the Reds since Karius' Champions League final blunders but now reports in Italy have claimed that Liverpool have been in contact with his current club Roma to register their interest.
