George Clooney released from hospital after motorcycle crash in Italy

The 57-year-old had been heading to a film set on Tuesday when his motorbike was hit by a auto, according to local daily La Nuova Sardegna.

The 57-year-old actor was traveling along a road in Costa Corallina, in the province of Olbia-Tempio in Sardinia, when the incident occurred, reported TGCOM24.

The newspaper tweeted a photo apparently from the scene, showing a lightly smashed up motorbike and auto, with a caption suggesting the vehicle had been turning and Clooney had made contact with its windscreen.

A picture from La Nuova suggests that Clooney hit a auto while on the motorway.

While Moses was absent, Alvaro Morata, Ross Barkley, Pedro, Marcos Alonso and Danny Drinkwater were all present for the training session.

Clooney was taken by ambulance to the John Paul II hospital emergency room, but his injuries were not serious, NBC News reported. Authorities say that Clooney was not seriously injured and confirm he was released from the hospital a short time later.

Their outing comes amid reports that the pair are renting a lovely two-storey villa from Ezio Maria Simonelli, an accountant and man close to former Italian president Silvio Berlusconi.

The US actor is directing, producing and starring in the six episode miniseries based on Joseph Heller's famous novel.
