Former Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment

Angry protesters attempted to attack the Avenfield apartments of the Sharif family here last night, days after a Pakistani court sentenced ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif to seven years in jail in the Avenfield properties corruption case, a media report said today.

It has been reported that Nawaz Sharif is now in London and has regularly been visiting the United Kingdom during the trial.

Maryam on Sunday shared her flight details with mediapersons. Islamabad-based accountability court's judge Muhammad Bashir, who gave 10 years of rigorous imprisonment to 68-year-old Sharif in the Avenfield apartment case last week, was hearing the Al Azizia steel mills corruption case against him.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Hamza Shahbaz said on Monday that the accountability process against the Sharif family was a hard time but the party stands united while facing this trouble.

While they will not face any difficulty in coming to Pakistan, they are expected to be arrested during the immigration process at the airport as per standard procedure for all those placed on ECL.
