Today, Xiaomi launched a new smartphone in India with the main highlight of the device being the selfie camera. The launch event also included details of the MIUI 10 rollout, with info on device compatibility, features and those multiple rollouts starting by mid-June.

The Redmi Note 5 is powered by a generation old Snapdragon 625 SoC - with octa-core Cortex-A53 2.0GHz clocked CPU core and Adreno 506 GPU - and is available in 3GB/32GB and 4GB/64GB RAM and storage variants which promise similar performance to its predecessor from 2017.

The phone features dual camera where it has 12 megapixels primary sensor and 5 megapixels secondary sensor.

With connectivity options such as 4G LTE with VoLTE, dual-SIM card slots, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and Global Positioning System, the smartphone runs Android 8.0 Oreo OS with MIUI 9 skin on top.

The Redmi 6 Plus is expected to come with Apple iPhone X-inspired design. The Xiaomi Redmi Y2 will be powered by a 3,080mAh battery. It is a dual sim smartphone which supports all required connectivities like 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11, Bluetooth 4.2 and GPS + GLONASS. The Xiaomi Redmi Y2 comes in multiple colour options like Gold, Dark Grey, and Rose Gold which are also priced the same. A 3080mAh battery with claimed "full-day" battery life powers the internals from underneath the hood. If you need a light phone, go with Redmi 5. As mentioned earlier, the phone comes in two storage variants 32GB & 64GB both have a dedicated card slot.
