Tunisia fight back to go in 1-1 with England at break

England fans who watched their team beat Tunisia 2-1 on Monday said they had been on tenterhooks until the stoppage-time winning goal, fearing that their long trip to southern Russian Federation might end in disappointment.

Thankfully, Kane headed in a stoppage-time goal to give England three points in victory and set the team up well to advance out of the group stage.

Mindful of Ronaldo's hat-trick for Portugal against Spain on Friday and doubles for Spaniard Diego Costa, also in that match, and Belgium's Romelu Lukaku, Kane is the first England player to score twice in a World Cup game since Gary Lineker in 1990. After an incredible game Hainsey and Buvey bring you all the action as it happened direct from Volgograd.

The 47-year-old has been impressive during his tenure as three lions boss so far, but admits he had reservations about taking the job given the circumstances.

There was plenty of praise for England manager Gareth Southgate, however, with many fans saying the substitutions he made were shrewd and game-changing.

He said: "He (Kane) is a top, top striker isn't he".

England defender Kyle Walker swung an arm behind him and caught Fakhreddine Ben Youssef in the face and Colombia referee Wilmar Roldan pointed to the spot.

England had penalty claims of their own turned down before struggling to maintain their intensity after halftime.

Crawford scored 24 goals during a stint locally with Colchester United during the 1970/71 season, and he thought the attacking options available to England were the best they've been for a while: "Looking at the boys we've got in those positions, I don't think goals will be a problem".

"There were a lot of decisions against us and maybe there was a bit of justice at the end".

Dee Dee Murray, aged 60 from Luton, said: "That is exactly the result we needed - I knew we were going to do it".

"If (Raheem) Sterling can start firing on all cylinders then we're going to be on fire", he said.
