Trump, Kim Commit to 'Immediate Repatriation' of Korean War Missing

The final deal over the North Korean problem is yet to be signed, and the US wants South Korea and China to be part of it.

Almost 7,800 USA troops remain unaccounted for from the 1950-53 war.

In an unusual move, Pyongyang's media have disclosed that the airplane used by leader Kim Jong-un over the weekend to fly to Singapore for summit talks with U.S. President Trump was from China. "We did sanctions and all of the things you would do, but without the rhetoric...we wouldn't have been here".

The U.S. had rejected such proposals in the past, but North Korea has declared an end to testing its nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles, and now Trump appears ready to end exercises while talks are ongoing.

US forces in South Korea said it has "received no updated guidance on the execution or cessation of training exercises" and will continue to coordinate with South Korean partners and maintain the current posture until it receives an updated guidance from the Department of Defense or the Indo-Pacific Command.

About 28,500 USA troops are stationed in South Korea, a legacy of the Korean War, which ended in 1953 in an armistice that left the two Koreas technically still at war.
