June 6, 2015 -American Pharoah wins the 147th Belmont Stakes and becomes one of only 12 horses to achieve the Triple Crown, and the first since 1978.

The chestnut colt became the second undefeated horse to sweep the Kentucky Derby, Preakness and Belmont, improving to 6-0 in a racing career that began on February 18. Repole did tell The Post he considers Justify a "super horse", regardless of his questions about the Belmont. "If my horse would have broke on top, I would have been on the lead and Justify laying second".

Justify, the theory goes, got a bit of help from stablemate Restoring Hope.

Smith got the big colt into a relaxed rhythm under a moderate pace heading into the backstretch, and he had an easy trip from there. The Scat Daddy colt is the latest among the 22 Kentucky Derby (G1) winners and 24 Preakness (G1) winners to graduate from Keeneland sales.
