KFC is experimenting with vegetarian fried chicken

And it will introduce meals that are under 600 calories by 2020.

KFC plans to introduce a faux meat alternative to its original chicken recipe in its aim to provide options to people with changing dining habits.

KFC UK hopes to cut its calories per serving by 20 percent in the next seven years, according to the report.

KFC told Foodbeast: "Development of the recipe is still in its very early stages, and so the options we're exploring in our kitchen are still top secret".

In addition to the vegetarian option, KFC has said it will offer low or zero calorie soft drinks and trial a behavioral change program created to "nudge" consumers toward lighter options.

The 58-year-old actor finished: " You left too soon". "Please know that your family is not better off without you ". Embassy in Paris said, "We can confirm the death of Anthony Bourdain in the Haut-Rhin department of France ".

KFC has a wild idea: meatless chicken.

KFC UK told Foodbeast that it is still working on the recipe and plans to test it with customers this year and launch the product next year. Consumers increasingly seek out organic and less-processed foods, while those with concerns about antibiotics in meat and poultry and animal welfare are turning to plant-based alternatives.

KFC has also promised to use the same 11 herbs and spice mix in the new item that is used in its regular fried chicken variety.

In April, White Castle added the option to switch for a vegan Impossible Burger on any of their sliders. If trials turn out well, KFC will initially launch a new vegetarian option in 2019 in the United Kingdom. Earlier this spring, White Castle started selling the Impossible Burger and late a year ago, McDonald's announced that the McVegan would become a permanent menu item in Finland and Sweden.

USA customers may have to wait a bit longer. As the Independent reported in May, the chain said it will begin offering healthier substitutes for fries as sides for free.
