Cyberpunk 2077 is a 'first-person RPG,' confirms dev

Unlike the 2077's source material, the Cyberpunk 2020 pen-and-paper RPG, the game will not include classes or roles in the traditional sense.

The website revealed a number of Cyberpunk 2077's gameplay details.

Speaking of the character creation system the devs revealed that the game will boast a full-fledged character creation system, giving you the freedom to choose your gender, facial attributes and stuff. That being said, the developers have been careful to explain that it's a first-person RPG with some shooter elements, not a FPS with a layer of RPG on top.

While any information is good news, the lack of gameplay has left some players feeling frustrated that CD Projekt Red isn't being upfront with their information.

Something to look forward to: Cyberpunk 2077 was unveiled on Sunday in a short in-engine trailer, but now we're finally getting some meaty information about the game.

In a world where you have no future, what matters is that you control who you are. Rumors that the game would be a first-person began circulating a few months back. Players will be able to actively comment on an NPC's appearance or tattoos to butter them up, or they can end the conversation early with a "well-placed bullet". But that wasn't all CD Projekt RED had to show us.

If players aren't happy with their starting apartment, it sounds like they'll be able to use their "blood money" to invest in additional properties.

You can also enter buildings, even mega buildings with multiple floors.

The protagonist, called V, can be either male or female.

CD Projekt says that there will be "dozens of hours" in the main storyline and there will be plenty of side quests to partake in. Featuring CD PROJEKT RED's trademark storytelling system driven by choice and effect, in Cyberpunk 2077 players navigate the streets of Night City along strongly contrasting paths to arrive at one of a range of story outcomes.
