We have not done enough to prevent misuse: Facebook's Zuckerberg

Cambridge Analytica used the data of millions of Facebook users to personalise adverts during political campaigns, including the U.S. presidential vote.

It should be noted that while Facebook is asking everyone to review their settings, the European privacy protections and rights (such as the right to be forgotten) aren't being extended to users out of the EU.

Zuckerberg, who was asked to address concerns about the Cambridge Analytica data leak, will repeat what he's been telling every audience recently: That the company didn't take a broad enough view of its responsibility for user data, fake news and foreign interference in elections.

Mr Zuckerberg was speaking to European Parliament members in Brussels as he defended the world's largest social media platform.

Cohen's Taxi Partner Plea Deal Suggests Cooperation
If Cohen wants to save his own skin, he'll need to work out a plea deal as well and hand over all of his info on Donald Trump. Freidman potentially sharing what he knows with federal prosecutors in NY and the special counsel.

Asked about some of his goals for the future, Zuckerberg said that he wants to spend time focusing on governance of the two billion people in the Facebook community. Zuckerberg responded with few new answers. "And if we decide that your post is hate speech, then we take it down and today there isn't-there hasn't historically been a way for you to appeal". "That was a mistake and I am sorry for it", Zuckerberg said in his opening remarks.

With much of Europe facing fears over their data protection and the way in which their personal data had been harvested by Cambridge Analytica, Facebook chief Mark Zuckerberg's "grilling" before the European Parliament was a rather lacklustre affair both in terms of performance as well as in substance. "On average we're down about 25% over the course of this year".

"So first, we're building a system where people can now appeal decisions we make on content". "We introduced a similar experience in the European Union as part of our preparation for the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and now we're making it available everywhere", Facebook added.

Facebook has been rolling out its full GDPR compliance for a while, and one interesting lesson is that the "vast majority of users choose to opt-in" to their new policies.
