Huawei to launch Bitcoin wallet on app store

Alejandro de la Torre, BTC.com's vice president of business operations, told Bloomberg that Huawei smartphone users would be able to download BTC.com's bitcoin wallet on their devices, starting Friday May 11. "China is nearly a "cashless economy" today, accounting for nearly 62% of all global mobile transactions".

China's biggest mobile phone seller, Huawei, is providing access to a Bitcoin wallet app for its devices for the first time as of today. With Huawei set to provide said wallet to nearly all of its users, lack of exposure will no longer be a problem.

Huawei and BTC.com couldn't wait on the sidelines as more than 90% of China's internet users go online via their mobile device.

Cryptona.co had earlier reported that Huawei is making plans to develop a mobile phone that will support decentralized apps (DApp) running on blockchain tech. The companies global market share was 11.8 percent in the first quarter and it shipped 90.9 million units past year in the Chinese market alone.

"BTC's Bitcoin wallet application was reviewed by AppGallery, and was approved for official release in multiple countries and regions, not including Mainland China". Furthermore, BTC.com also offers a popular block explorer to browse the blockchain, check on pending transactions, and gather network statistics. "We expect to see massive growth in global cryptocurrency adoption habits in the ‎near future‏."‏.
