10 de abril de 2018, 17:01United Nations, Apr 10 (Prensa Latina) Russia vetoed a draft resolution fostered by United States at the United Nations Security Council on the alleged use of chemical weapons by Syria, while considering the approach as biased.

At least 60 people were killed and more than 1,000 wounded in Saturday's suspected chemical weapons attack on the town of Douma, according to a Syrian relief group.

Graphic images and videos emerged on social media following Douma's alleged gas attack, showing children struggling to breathe and entire families who had succumbed to the attack on the floors of underground shelters.

The draft received five votes in favor (Russia, China, Ethiopia, Kazakhstan and Bolivia), four votes against (the USA, the UK, France and Poland) and six abstentions, falling short of the minimum nine votes required for adoption.

Later, a rival Russian bid to create a new inquiry also failed after the proposed resolution received only six votes in favor.

It was the second vote by the council on Tuesday.
