Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium Smartphone with Dual Camera and 4K Display Unveiled

Sony has finally announced the Xperia XZ2 Premium which succeeds the Xperia XZ Premium. The dual lens system will also enable the popular bokeh effect for photos shot with Sony's camera, however, it will be made available sometime after launch in Q3 this year. The camera can capture videos in 4K HDR and shoot super slow motion videos at 960 frames per second in 1080p. This is quite a departure for Sony, which has used textured aluminum on most of its phones in recent years.

The 19 MP camera is the Motion Eye camera with color sensor whereas the 12 MP camera consists of Black & White sensor. Previously, Huawei has also gone for the split image capture.

In addition, Sony says the Xperia XZ2 Premium can record 4K movies. Apparently, this isn't a problem for Sony as they've implemented their AUBE fusion image signal processor that can capture detail and reproduce it for an end photograph or video clip.

Salah received a very long pass from defender Trent Alexander-Arnold on the play. The benchmark for Liverpool performances was set 30 years ago.

Today's topics include social media data legislation appearing likely after Facebook CEO's Zuckerberg testimony to Congress, and Sony taking preorders for its new Xperia XZ2 smartphones.

For comparison's sake, the Galaxy S9 has to "make do" with a 2960x1440 AMOLED panel, though the S9's bezels are noticeably smaller that those of the XZ2 Premium. This is an upgraded version of the Sony Xperia XZ2 introduced in MWC 2018. Specifically, where you'll see the most improvement is in the display and camera setup which have both been taken to new heights with this device. Just like the Xperia XZ2, there is no headphone jack on the XZ2 Premium. Clearly, the XZ2 Premium would have more light when shooting in darker conditions. On the front, it sports a 13-megapixel 22mm wide lens with f/2.0 aperture and Exmor RS sensor. Coming to the ISO, the XZ2 has ISO 12800 for photo and ISO 4000 for video. The Xperia XZ2 Premium is scheduled to launch globally in the summer. Apart from this the phone also features a 4K HDR screen, Snapdragon 845 SoC, and 6 GB RAM. The Premium is still running a Snapdragon 845 processor, but there's now 6GB of RAM (up from 4GB) to help with the extra performance demands. Some portion of that mass is doubtless due to the integrated 3450 mAh battery pack. The dual camera, by the way, has one color lens and a monochrome lens. It's available in Chrome Black and Chrome Silver.

The phone will ship with Android 8.0 Oreo, as you would expect. The technology, as the name suggests, allows the Xperia XZ2 Premium to rumble along with media content, so you can 'feel your media'.
