Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, Maria, Nate not worth repeating

Harvey, Irma, Maria and Nate join Katrina, Ike and Rita on the list of hurricane names that have been officially "retired" from future use by the World Meteorological Organization.

Hurricanes season runs from June 1 to November 30.

At least 68 people died from the storm in Texas.

Hurricane Harvey, which pounded Southeastern Texas for days with historic rainfall and catastrophic flooding, is the second costliest hurricane in US history after Katrina. When it hit Puerto Rico, it was still a Category 4, and the strongest storm to hit the USA territory since 1928. Irma contributed to 129 deaths, while Maria killed 31 people in Dominica and 65 in Puerto Rico. Names are retired if a hurricane is particularly destructive or costly. More than three months after Hurricane Harvey walloped Texas, many affected residents say they're still not.

In Game 1, you could point to coaching points that cost the Leafs. "Number one, let's be disciplined", Babcock said before Game 2. In his post-game media availability, Kadri explained what happened on the ice that led up to his hit and what happened during it.

The removal also avoids confusion caused by a future storm having the same name. The 2005 hurricane season has the most retired names for one season, with five. Thus, the 2015 list will be used again in 2021.

Harold, Idalia, Margot, and Nigel will respectively replace them starting in the 2023 Hurricane Season. An Atlantic storm that ripped off the mast of a boat named Antje became known as Antje's hurricane.

That is likely because the wide scale of the death and destruction from the hurricanes retired after the 2004 season - Charley, Frances, Ivan and Jeanne - far exceeded the very localized severity of Gaston. Thus, a storm with a name which begins with A, like Anne, would be the first storm to occur in the year.

WMO maintains rotating lists of names that are appropriate for each tropical cyclone basin. The names alternate between male and female.
