Green Bay Packers WR Trevor Davis Arrested For Making Bomb Joke

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Trevor Davis was arrested Sunday in LosAngeles International Airport for earning "criminal threats" while checking in, authorities confirmed to ESPN.

On Monday, TMZ Sports reported that Davis was arrested Sunday morning after police alleged that the player told a female companion at a Hawaiian Airlines ticket counter, "Did you keep in mind to pack the explosives?"

Demovsky reported that Davis checked in for a flight and was asked usual questions about what he had in is carry-on. Davis then turned to his companion and jokingly remarked, "Did you keep in mind to pack the explosives?"

According to airport police, the 24-year-old turned to his female friend and asked if she "packed the explosives?"

At that moment, police reportedly came to the scene and took Davis into custody before he was eventually released.

"The Packers are aware of the matter involving Trevor Davis", the Wisconsin-based franchise said in a statement after news of his arrest broke. Davis' preliminary court hearing is scheduled for May 3.

The Green Bay Packers announced plans Monday to celebrate the team's 100th season.

A fifth-round pick by the Packers in 2016, Davis has 33 catches for 404 receiving yards in his first 27 games in the NFL. Davis ranked third in the National Football League in punt return average last season at 12 yards a return. He may be subject to NFL discipline if the league determines that he violated its personal-conduct policy.
