Sheeran is a known fan of The Beatles, having once performed an acoustic cover of "In My Life" in front of Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr (see footage of that below).

Ed Sheeran could be appearing in an upcoming Beatles-inspired musical comedy by Danny Boyle. The newspaper also says Curtis is writing the screenplay and that the film will be directed by Trainspotting director Danny Boyle.

Sheeran has previously appeared in The Simpsons, Game of Thrones, Bridget Jones' Baby, Home and Away, and The Bastard Executioner.

According to the Daily Mail, the working-title flick tells the story of a man who one day wakes up to find that he is the only person in the world to remember any of The Beatles' songs. Slumdog Millionaire moviemaker Boyle will direct the project from a script penned by Richard Curtis. "If anyone can make a Beatles song sound better", - shared with the publication a source close to the production company Working Title, involved in the production of the film.

"Cindererlla" beauty Lily James will star as a teacher in the as-yet-untitled film, thought to be set in the 60s or 70s, whilst "EastEnders" actor Himesh Patel is on board to play the male lead.

Universal is eyeing a summer shoot for the project, which will roll out in theaters two months before the next James Bond film, which is set to open November 8, 2019.
