The XXI Commonwealth Games has, once again, been a great celebration of the Commonwealth touching 1.5 billion populations.

CWG's host Australia is still on top of the medal tally, with 74 golds and 186 medals in total.

The Gold Coast also has broken new ground with Women's Rugby Sevens, Beach Volleyball and Para Triathlon medals awarded for the first time, as part of the largest integrated sports program in Commonwealth Games history.

There were also many firsts for Indians at the Commonwealth Games.

"From its beginnings. the Games were always created to be more than just a sporting spectacle".

With 26 gold medals, India has finished at number three at the 21st Commonwealth Games (CWG) which concludes today at Gold Coast in Australia. "It's a surreal experience, winning your first global medal on a big stage".

And the Silver Ferns will return home empty-handed after losing the bronze medal match to Jamaica 60-55.

Hawkins was eventually helped into an ambulance, and a statement from Team Scotland said he was "receiving medical treatment". Hawkins, who was fourth at the World Championships past year , was reported one hour after the race to be conscious.
