Israeli Man Dies of Wounds Sustained in Jerusalem Stabbing Attack

Israeli security personnel at the scene where an Israeli security guard was attacked and seriously injured in a terror attack in the Jewish Quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem, March 18, 2018.

Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld says the man died in hospital late on Sunday following the attack. On the street was lying a young man in his thirties, conscious, and he was suffering from several stab wounds in his upper body and limbs.

The incident followed an attack on Friday in the occupied West Bank in which the Israeli military said a Palestinian motorist rammed and killed two Israeli soldiers guarding a road near a Jewish settlement.

Turkey regards the YPG as terrorists , insisting they are linked to Kurdish rebels in south-eastern Turkey . Despite an exodus of more than 150,000 people in recent days, thousands of civilians remained in Afrin.

According to eyewitnesses, Coleman, a security guard who was unarmed and not on duty at the time of the attack, tried to fend off the assailant until police forces who were in the area arrived at the scene. Israel's Shin Bet internal security services later identified the attacker Abd al-Rahman Bani Fadel, a 28-year-old father of two from Aqraba, near the Palestinian-controlled city of Nablus, also known as Shechem, in Samaria.

The incident was part of a fresh wave of violence in the region, sparked in the wake of United States President Donald Trump's recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel on last December 6. He was thankfully shot dead before he was able to hurt anyone else.

Israeli and Palestinian officials have not made a statement over the identity of the attacker.
