Indian Wells Masters: Roger Federer beats Federico Delbonis to enter next round

Indian Wells Masters: Roger Federer beats Federico Delbonis to enter next round

"I think it's only (a matter of) time to get where he deserves to be", said Del Potro.

Djokovic shut down his season after Wimbledon in 2017 and despite not being at his best, made a decision to play at this year's Australian Open where he was ousted by South Korea's Hyeon Chung in the fourth round.

Djokovic said it felt like the "first match I ever played on the tour".

"But it's not easy to deal with this kind of frustrations after injuries or when you always be the favorite to win a tournament, you come here and you lose in first round". "I mean, I just completely lost rhythm, everything".

Federer stressed it was always going to be hard for the six-time Australian victor to impress on his return from injury, which is why the 36-year-old was not surprised following Djokovic's struggle in Indian Wells.

On his highly-anticipated return to the tour after right elbow surgery, Djokovic looked a shadow of his former self.

A separate motion seeks the removal of the State Attorney's Office from the case because Satz signed the same agreement. Not, should he go free? "Live forever in jail or die - I don't care", Mr Jaffe said in an email.

Djokovic had four aces but overall he served poorly making four double faults and winning just 65 per cent of his first-serve points.

Still looking to adjust to the high-bouncing conditions in the desert, Federer will look to improve on his 40 unforced errors when he faces 25th-seed Filip Krajinovic in the third round.

Federer said he understands well how even a champion like Djokovic could be struggling to find his game so soon after having surgery.

"To me, it's not that surprising. He's only going to get better from here".

In other men's matches, Juan Martin del Potro steamed his way into the third round as the sixth seed needed just 69 minutes to beat Australian teenager Alex de Minaur 6-2, 6-1. However, ninth-seeded Lucas Pouille of France and 14th-seeded Diego Schwartzman of Argentina both lost to qualifiers, and 15th-seeded American John Isner fell to France's Gael Monfils 6-7 (5), 7-6 (3), 7-5. Krajinovic, who reached the final at the Rolex Paris Masters previous year, defeated American qualifier Mitchell Krueger 6-2, 6-2 on Saturday.
