Fortnite Battle Royale adds llamas, but banishes smoke grenades

"Battle Royale", the multiplayer shooter game for computer and consoles that has taken the gaming world by storm over the past year, is about to make another splash with a mobile version of the game.

Microsoft has openly pushed cross-play between platforms while Sony has been reluctant to add support.

It sounds like Android players may not be in luck if they want to play the game earlier than their iOS counterparts, but Epic will likely announce more release date news soon.

It's not all doom and gloom, though. Fortnite is now available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, and will be coming to iOS and Android later this year. In terms of hardware, iPhone 6S/SE, iPad Mini 4, iPad Pro, iPad Air 2, iPad 2017, and later are all supported (bummer, I still have an original iPhone 6).

The Huawei Y9 shares a lot in common with the Mate 10 Lite launched back in October 2017 but features a redesigned package. The Huawei P20 Lite brings back the liquid-like finish that amazed a lot of Huawei fans when it first appeared.

In it, it was easy to see the usual gameplay that's found on PS4, Xbox One and PC. It is free-to-play and features the popular battle royale action where players all jump into a huge arena together and only the last player or team standing wins. Shortly after the mobile sign-up has opened Epic Games will start sending out invites with a link to download the game from Apple's App Store. Starting on March 12th for iOS, players can register to get on their mailing list on Fortnite's website.

Until then, players can always check out how Fortnite on iOS is expected to feel by checking out some Fortnite iOS gameplay video, featured below. On phones and tablets, Fortnite is the same 100-player game you know from PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Mac.

What mobile devices does Fortnite: Battle Royale support? Unfortunately, no, players on those competing platforms will not be able to play with one another.
