Banned Rabada returns to top of ICC rankings

"Our plans for him was to play a game". He has been sanctioned three times previously for over-the-top celebrations when taking a wicket.

"Obviously these days, the attention has changed so much to what is allowed and what is not allowed and what is within the spirit of the game".

"I've let myself down and let the team down", Rabada said. "Honestly, I didn't even feel the contact in that moment because I was just so pumped up".

South Africa captain Faf du Plessis was unhappy with the ICC after it banned paceman Kagiso Rabada for the final two Test matches of a thrilling series against Australia. Before the start of the second Test, Proteas veteran Dale Steyn inferred that Rabada had been bowling on a "leash" due to his disciplinary issues and that it was unfair as the Aussies were supposedly going about their business as usual.

Rabada also accepted a second level one charge of "using language, actions or gestures which could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batsman upon his dismissal" in his send-off to David Warner after dismissing the Australian opener on Sunday. Did you see that?

"This an important part of Test cricket.the battles that you face".

"We haven't got a hundred so far in this series, so that's not ideal", Smith told Australian radio station SEN.

Former England batsman Kevin Pietersen has come out and slammed International Cricket Council's (ICC) decision to ban South African pacer Kagiso Rabada for two Tests, following his shoulder nudge to Steve Smith during the second Test.

Chriswell Scott , Amber Young was arrested and booked around 10:30 a.m.at the scene of a three vehicle accident. Young was handcuffed and taken to a police substation where she had her blood drawn and was released.

"That was my question: why are both of these incidents labelled as exactly the same? I haven't heard today, but before today they were all feeling fine, so hopefully with a good 10-day break they can freshen up a little bit".

"I found that there was contact between Rabada and Smith, and in my judgement the contact by Rabada was inappropriate, and deliberate", said match referee Jeff Crowe.

"It's just a part of playing and adapting to whatever's being thrown at you, and the surfaces make a big difference as well". "For us, it's about proving that what KG did... they call it body contact, we would say it is a shirt being brushed or it was not deliberate".

In another spiteful Test, Rabada was also found guilty of a level one misconduct offence when he gave Warner a send off in the second innings. "I just like to bowl wherever the team requires me to and set my own aspirations aside".

"It's what I always wanted to do", Rabada said when he reached No.1 for the first time in January.

"There are a lot of grey areas but rules are rules". If I knew I did it deliberately, I wouldn't have gone to contest. "I was just so pumped up".

Rabada already had five demerit points on his record, and the three-point penalty for the offence means he incurs an automatic two-match ban.

"That was an incredible Test match, especially after Durban where we were put under pressure for most of the Test", Du Plessis said. "I have to see it as a learning curve".
