WhatsApp has launched person-to-person payments into beta in India

WhatsApp, the instant messaging app owned by Facebook, is now rolling out a new update that integrates a digital payments feature based on unified payment interface (UPI).

The peer-to-peer UPI payments feature has been rolled for Android and iOS versions of the app.

Although a prompt will say that the transaction has failed, the contact in question will receive the feature on their WhatsApp. Finally, after a few months of delay, some users in the Asian country already have this feature available on their mobile phones, according to the WABetaInfo specialist portal. If you want to send money to a friend, go to her chatbox, click on the paper clip, and then on the Payments option.

The payments platform's integration may give boost digital payments in India, considering the number of active users on the platform in the country.

To access it, users will need to get their mobile number linked with their bank account and authorised for mobile banking. This works in the favour of the messaging application as transaction between different digital wallets is still not an option.

Obermeyer Wood Investment Counsel Lllp sold 3,356 shares as the company's stock declined 2.31% while stock markets rallied. It dived, as 90 investors sold DIS shares while 649 reduced holdings. 118 funds opened positions while 525 raised stakes.

The much-awaited feature lets the users send and receive money directly via WhatsApp.

Although not officially announced by the company yet, beta testers have noticed a payment option in the attachment menu between Document and Gallery.

WhatsApp has begun the testing of the new payment service that it will be offering on its platform in India.

It is worth to note that the feature is exclusively for India. Choose the bank with which you have an account and where UPI is activated. However, it looks like the feature is now being rolled out to both iOS and Android, though as already noted above it will not be visible for everyone immediately. So, not all users with beta version can see this option. But, there's no option to switch from video to audio call. The country even surpassed the USA for combined iOS and Android downloads for the first time in Q4 2017, according to App Annie, as smartphone adoption is surging.
