President Trump describes Oprah Winfrey as 'insecure'

In a move straight out of the WWE, President Trump called out his next opponent Sunday night on Twitter.

Winfrey had interviewed a group of MI voters for a "60 Minutes" segment that aired Sunday night.

'The questions were biased and slanted, the facts incorrect. "Do you care what the world thinks of the United States?" "Do you think the president is held to a different standard when it comes to this issue of sexual harassment?" ran another question.

The questions sparked a spirited back-and-forth, with Trump's supporters and detractors both making their points.

Winfrey was seen on the show leading a panel discussion with 14 people in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the same group the show had convened earlier.

The panellists ranged from voters who said "I love him more and more every day", to others questioning Trump's stability, saying, "All he does is bully people". "And I haven't heard that", Winfrey added in the same interview. "All of that made us want to go back".

Winfrey drew wide praise after her empowering Golden Globes speech last month, which led to many calling for her to run for president.

A January NPR, PBS NewsHour and Marist poll found that while 64 per cent of Americans have a favourable view of Winfrey, only 35 per cent wanted her to run in 2020.

In 1999, when Trump was considering a presidential run on the Reform Party ticket, he told Larry King he would like Winfrey to be his running mate.

Just watched a very insecure Oprah Winfrey, who at one point I knew very well, interview a panel of people on 60 Minutes.

"I was just trying to give a good speech", the talk show host said.

Attacking Oprah is not the smartest idea - she's wildly popular on the left and the right - but, feeling threatened, attack her he did.
