'Paddington' Director Paul King up to Direct 'Willy Wonka' Reboot

'Paddington' Director Paul King up to Direct 'Willy Wonka' Reboot

This would see King reunite with David Heyman, the producer of the Paddington movies.

Of course, King has found massive critical and commercial sucess with the Paddington films and he seems like the flawless candidate to reopen the chocolate factory. The script has been written by Simon Rich, a former writer for Saturday Night Live, who also co-wrote the animated hit film The Secret Life of Pets.

The director of the popular Paddington movies may now be turning his talents to another adaptation of a beloved children's novel. The 2005 version by Tim Burton featured Johnny Depp in the starring role. Perhaps King and Rich will do something similar with theirs.

This is why a woman in China climbed inside X-ray machine
They still haven't figured what was so special in her luggage or so prized that she had be right next to it the whole time. The video of the woman passenger going inside the X-Ray machine has gained utmost attention on a social media platform.

Wonka is the infamous and eccentric owner of a chocolate factory who figured prominently in Dahl's 1964 book and its follow-up, Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator. And the winners are: "Augustus Gloop, an enormously fat boy whose hobby is eating; Veruca Salt, a spoiled-rotten brat whose parents are wrapped around her little finger; Violet Beauregarde, a dim-witted gum-chewer with the fastest jaws around; Mike Teavee, a toy pistol-toting gangster-in-training who is obsessed with television; and Charlie Bucket, Our Hero, a boy who is honest and kind, courageous and true, and good and ready for the wildest time of his life!" The new Willy Wonka is part of an initiative by Warner Bros.to reboot various Dahl properties, like The Witches, which is now in development with a script by Guillermo del Toro.

In other interesting Roald Dahl news, the THR story also reports that a new film adaptation of Dahl's The Witches, which was previously adapted into a traumatizing movie from director Nicolas Roeg, is also in the works.

King now has Paddington 2 in theaters.
