Twenty Two Motors CEO and co-founder Parveen Kharb said: "We are going to start the production with 300 scooters per day and in the first three years we will roll out 2 lakh electric vehicles".

Similarly, French auto major Renault showcased its electric concept cars TREZOR and ZOE e-Sport and said it is awaiting a clear policy and road map on infrastructure for electric vehicles to take a long-term strategic decision.

The expo was attended by renowned personalities like Bollywood Actor Shahrukh Khan at Hyundai stand supporting the government's swatch Bharat Campaign, Actress Sonakshi Sinha, Former Indian Captain Mohammed Azhrudin & Cricketer Gautam Gambhir were also spotted at the Auto Expo.

Separately, Kia'a President Han-Woo Park told reporters at the event that the carmaker would focus on launching SUVs and hatchbacks in India and was also looking at introducing a compact electric vehicle.

Tata Motors, in the passenger vehicle segment as part of its two-architecture strategy, two attractive innovations made their global debut with "H5X Concept" and the "45X Concept".

Unveiling the ConceptFutureS, Kenichi Ayukawa, Managing Director and CEO, Maruti Suzuki, said: "Our designers have created this brand new design, aggressive on the outside, and bold and inviting interiors".

India's automobile market is now the world's 5th largest, with almost 3.8 million vehicles sold per year.

Suzuki Motorcycle India unveiled its new flagship scooter, Burgman Street, a 125 cc advanced luxury scooter and also announced the new apex predator GSX-S 750 for the Indian market.

The company also showcased its ethanol powered motorcycle, Apache RTR 200 Fi Ethanol aimed at reducing carbon footprint on the environment.
