GOP Senators flag uncommon Susan Rice e-mail on Russian Federation probe

Moments before Trump took the oath of office January 20, 2017, Rice messaged herself about a January 5, 2017, briefing between then-President Barack Obama, then-FBI Director James Comey, then-Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates, and former Vice President Joe Biden, the Washington Examiner reported.

The two senators also note that while Rice said that Obama instructed Comey to proceed 'by the book, ' the Republicans claim that 'substantial questions have arisen about whether officials at the Federal Bureau of Investigation, as well as the Justice Department and the State Department, actually did proceed "by the book"'.

Napolitano said Rice's comments in the email, released by Sens.

The Senate Committee on the Judiciary is scheduled to hear testimony from Rice on February 22.

Below is the entire Grassley Graham letter to President Obama's former National Security Advisor Susan Rice requesting info related to a partially unclassified email Rice had sent to herself on January 20, 2017.

The Senate Judiciary Committee would like to know which of these possibilities is the truth.

Or was the email Rice addressed to herself not actually for herself?

Grassley and Graham say they question whether the Obama administration conducted the Trump investigation "by the book".

But she hinted on Sunday she could make herself available for selection for the US' next round clash in France in April. The 36-year-old tennis great became a first-time mother on September 1.

Napolitano noted that Obama himself told Fox's Chris Wallace in 2016 that he didn't speak to anyone at the Department of Justice about any campaign-related investigations. That person said it was exclusively focused on whether the intelligence community and the Federal Bureau of Investigation needed to be careful about what Russian Federation conversations they had with the Trump transition team. It was timed just 15 minutes after President Trump took office.

The pair asked Rice to further explain why she sent the email and if it pertains to her involvement in the dossier on Trump compiled by former British spy Steele, and paid for by the campaign of Hillary Clinton and the Democratic National Committee. The dossier was also used to obtain a FISA warrant on Carter Page, a former foreign policy adviser to the Trump campaign. A House Intelligence Committee memo released on February 2 shows that the Federal Bureau of Investigation and DOJ hid the source and financiers of the allegations contained in the dossier from the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court-a criminal offense.

At that point in the meeting, Rice indicates that Obama then spoke of national security concerns.

"President Obama said he wants to be sure that, as we engage with the incoming team, we are mindful to ascertain if there is any reason that we can not share information fully as it relates to Russian Federation", she wrote, according to the Daily Mail.

Rice sent the email on January 20, 2017 - the day President Donald Trump took the oath of office.

At the end of her email describing the meeting, the former national security adviser wrote Obama "said he wants to be sure that, as we engage with the incoming team, we are mindful to ascertain if there is any reason that we can not share information fully as it relates to Russian Federation".

Just last week, a former Federal Bureau of Investigation informant, William Campbell, who was silenced under the Obama administration, revealed to Congress that Russian authorities had hired an American lobbying firm, APCO Worldwide, to influence the Obama administration.
