Arvinder Singh Lovely re-joins Congress after 9-month stint with BJP

Former Delhi education minister Arvinder Singh Lovely on Saturday rejoined the Congress just nine months after he left the party ahead of MCD polls previous year and joined the rival Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP). The by-elections in these seats was necessitated after the EC recommended disqualification of 20 AAP MLAs for holding office of profit while serving as parliamentary secretaries between March 13, 2015, and September 8, 2016.

There are reports that the decision on Lovely's return was taken after he met Congress President Rahul Gandhi. It was a weak moment for me.

"Ideologically main wahaan (BJP) misfit tha(Ideologically, I was a misfit there)", said the 49-year-old former Delhi minister of education and transport.

His comeback was welcomed by Delhi Unit in-charge PV Chacko along with Ajay Maken.

Norway's Patrick Thoresen scored an early power-play goal. "Our goalie made some great saves", Kovalchuck said. The Russians hemmed the U.S.in its zone late in the period, and the fatigue took its toll as the game went on.

Born in a Sikh family, Lovely had been active in politics since 1987. "It is a vivid example of bankruptcy of Congress, which has begun gathering leaders who have lost base in public".

Lovely, who was sulking in the BJP after being overshadowed by Delhi leaders Vijay Goel and Manoj Tiwari, is believed to have responded swiftly to overtures from the Congress leaders.

Lovely, who had been a key minister in the Sheila Dikshit-led Delhi government in Delhi, had also attacked Delhi Congress chief Ajay Maken, through a veiled reference.

Arvinder Singh Lovely had left the Congress party back in April after he alleged that Congress was getting involved in bribery during the ticket distribution for the MCD polls. He was elected to Delhi Legislative Assembly for the first time in 1998 and went on to repeat that in 2003 and 2008.
