YouTube Puts Logan Paul Film On Hold, Removes Him From Preferred Program

Logan Paul's channels were removed from YouTube's Google Preferred programme, where brands sell ads on the platform's top 5% of content creators.

YouTube announced that it will remove Paul from his original YouTube series "Foursome" and will hold off on releasing "The Thinning: A New World Order", which was expected to arrive this year.

The suicide video was uploaded on December 31 and was eventually deleted late on January 1.

As a 22-year-old YouTube star, one wants to hope that Logan Paul didn't know that what he was doing was incredibly wrong, disrespectful and thoughtless.

Paul was widely criticized after he posted a video showing him and his friends at the Aokigahara forest at the base of Mount Fuji, a common site for suicides. He has more than 4 million followers on Twitter.

Despite the saga, experts say Paul may still have made up to $96,000 from the Aokigahara forest video.

Tunisia: Protests against Rising Prices, Tax Increases Sweep Streets
Protests against a set of austerity measures including price and tax hikes swept across Tunisia leaving one person dead. Prime Minister Youssef Chahed called for calm, while at the same time affirming the right to demonstrate in the streets.

"We believe this requires a new approach to advertising on YouTube, carefully considering which channels and videos are eligible for advertising".

Again, YouTube did not act, and the videos were online for several weeks before critical press articles forced the vlogger to pull the content himself.

As the backlash grew, Paul took down the video.

Further, the video streaming platform said that the action of one creator could have an impact on the entire community, and that they will soon share details about the steps that they will take to ensure that such videos are not circulated in the future. As Anna Akana put it perfectly: "That body was a person someone loved". "It's taken us a long time to respond, but we've been listening to everything you've been saying", YouTube wrote in an open letter on Twitter. The video drew swift condemnation from other YouTubers and public figures, and Paul removed it after a few hours.

Now, there are two ways YouTube could proceed after handing down Paul's punishment: the company could consider the situation handled and do nothing further, or we could see YouTube instate new community guidelines or rules that pertain to this incident. The fine print is that the YouTuber have "brand safe content", so it's likely that move was inevitable.

By the end of 2017, Google and YouTube were dealing with a sea of bad actors who were publishing disturbing children's content or videos targeted toward kids.
