Walcott leaves Arsenal to join Everton

Theo Walcott has left Arsenal behind him after 12 years, signing a three-and-a-half year contract with Everton for a fee believed to be in the region of £20 million.

"I've come to Everton because I want the club to push to the next level", the England worldwide said on his new club's website.

He said: "I'm thrilled we've been able to secure a player of Theo's experience and quality". "I feel sad to leave but also excited for a new challenge".

This is a club with great history.

"We already have very talented players in our team and I'm sure if we sign him he would have a great input". This year looks a little hard but in the future I want to win trophies and be part of that for the club.

"We are short of goals so to add power in our goalscoring ability would be very important for me".

"I want to be part of something and I feel like this place will offer me that".

Tillerson: The United States Remains in Syria to Help Overthrow Bashar Assad
Tillerson went on to say: "Reducing and expelling malicious Iranian influence from Syria depends on a democratic Syria ". Washington won't allow global reconstruction aid to flow to any part of Syria under Assad's control, he said.

"It felt like it was time for me to move on [from Arsenal]".

Speaking at a press conference at Everton's training ground on Wednesday, the 26-year-old said: "The Premier League is very fast football, very strong and high-tempo, and I'm a very strong player".

Theo Walcott's move to Everton is close to being completed as the Arsenal winger has passed his medical, a source told ESPN FC. The manager (Sam Allardyce) is very ambitious and I feel like the club is going in the right direction.

The addition of Walcott, who can play on either wing or as a central striker, will add more pace and creativity to the Blues' attack.

Having been at Arsenal for over eleven years, Walcott has made 397 appearances for the Gunners across all competitions, scoring 108 goals and registering 78 assists in the process.

Walcott had been out of favour with Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger for much of this season and has opted to move to Goodison Park in a bid to kick-start his faltering career.

He has not given up on making a late run for England's World Cup squad, but his main focus is now on impressing in an Everton shirt. For a player who was so reliant on his pace, that's been incredibly hard to bounce back from, and despite seeming to find his way somewhat a year ago with 19 all-competitions goals last season, he's been in abysmal form for most of this campaign.
