Trump touts a poll that's awful for him

Americans by an nearly 8 to 1 margin - 79 percent - think Dreamers should be allowed to remain in the country and apply for citizenship - putting most voters at odds with GOP immigration hardliners in Congress and the Trump administration, a new Quinnipiac poll said Thursday.

The poll says that 51 percent of Americans answered that Democrats should not impeach the president if they regain the House in the midterm elections in 2018.

More damning, however, Quinnipac said 49 percent of voters credit former President Barack Obama, not Trump, for the success.

"There is no doubt that the expansion bottomed out under President Obama, there's no doubt", Bartiromo asserted Thursday.

The poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.6 percentage points.

President Trump says he would beat Oprah in 2020
When Mr Trump discussed a White House run with talk show host Larry King in 1999, he picked Winfrey as his potential running mate. Oprah Winfrey's best friend, Gayle King , is downplaying any suggestion that Winfrey might run for president.

President Trump has regularly shouted down negative polls with cries of "fake news" - but all of these numbers come from a poll he chose to tweet about.

A combined total of 66 percent of American voters described "the state of the nation's economy these days" as "excellent" or "good", up from the previous high of 63 percent of voters who said the economy was "excellent" or "good" on December 19.

Results from the poll also revealed that 37 per cent of voters feel Trump's policies were helping the economy, compared to the 29 per cent that said his policies were hurting the economy. Roughly 30 percent said his policies "aren't making much of a difference". The president also received an "A" from 16 percent of voters, a "B" from another 16 percent, a "C" from 11 percent of voters and 17 percent give him a "D".

But perhaps most frightening, 69 percent of voters believe the president is not level-headed, and 57 percent believe he is not fit to serve. So, once President Trump started campaigning on these policies about lowering taxes, about rolling back regulations, there was an anticipation that started to creep up and that started to force businesses to unleash the purse strings. His job approval rating is 36 percent.
