Harry Kane breaks another record as Spurs thrash Everton

Harry Kane became Tottenham Hotspur's record goalscorer in the Premier League with a double strike as they beat Everton 4-0 at Wembley on Saturday to maintain their mastery over the Merseysiders.

Mauricio Pochettino was in no mood to disagree and must feel his side have turned a corner after that patchy period in the autumn when rousing European nights were offset by stodgy afternoons against Burnley, Swansea and West Brom. Other than a disallowed Wayne Rooney goal, who was clearly, albeit marginally offside, the Toffees couldn't muster anything threatening going forward against a spry Spurs unit.

Just two minutes after the break Kane scored Spurs' second goal.

West Ham scored three goals in 15 second-half minutes as David Moyes celebrated 20 years in management with a 4-1 win at Huddersfield.

Tottenham defender Serge Aurier showed off his colourful fashion sense after touching down in Barcelona with the rest of the squad.

Manuel Lanzini wrapped up the points with a well-crafted third goal after 58 minutes and he swiftly added a fourth. "It could have been a tough game but from the start, we were really on it and deserved the win".

The England striker would record his second of the evening against the Blues not long after when Eric Dier picked him out with a ball from the right.

The only slight surprise was that he didn't extend his astonishing recent scoring streak of 10 goals in his last six matches by collecting his first hat-trick of the New Year.

The body in white is 16 per cent stiffer and there are new subframe designs that are claimed to improve lateral responsiveness. It also grows slightly in width by 0.7 inch to 70.8 inches and is a half-inch taller at 56.7 inches, improving headroom.

The England global already broken Alan Shearer's tally of most Premier League goals scored in a single calendar year, 36, and has scored eight top-flight hat-tricks - equalling the number managed by Thierry Henry and just two short of Shearer's record nine.

Just 29.6% of Everton's Premier League points this season have come away from home (8/27), the lowest ratio in the division.

Everton tried to find a way back into the match and, with five minutes remaining until the break, Tosun got down the left but produced a disappointing cutback with colleagues well placed. "He is always thinking to try to improve, improve, improve, score goals and improve for the team".

"It shocked me. I've not seen it since I got here but I've seen it now, and it's probably what was apparent before I got here".

"Football will take me where football wants to", Pochettino said.

"I thought we had cut that out, so for me it is about making the players understand that it has happened once, in the second half - it can not happen again".

While Kane may take the headlines for breaking more records, it was in fact Son who was the most attacking player on the field and was involved in three of the four Spurs goals.
