Google's art selfies are the talk of Twitter

Google's art selfies are the talk of Twitter

The free Google Arts and Culture app is bridging the gap between generational vanities by using technology to help identify which portrait resembles you. They're using the Google Arts & Culture app, which uses image recognition to scour art collections from more than 1,200 museums, galleries and institutions across the world. Oh what price vanity, etc etc...

We understand that's because it's still experimental and has been region-blocked - specifically it's limited to the United States right now.

It is to be noted that the app has been there since 2016 and it is only now that the experimental feature has been made available to users. But users - even some big names such as Twitter founder Jack Dorsey, musician Pete Wentz, and actors Felicia Day and Kumail Nanjiani - shared their results on news feeds.

To get the search for your fine art lookalike started, you simply need to download the Google Arts and Culture app for the Play Store [download]. The feature uses Artificial Intelligence to find matches, by examining your facial features and then comparing it to paintings in Google's database. The company said it won't use data from photos for any other goal but to match it with images in its catalog.

Ford Mustang Bullitt jumps off the screen and into our hearts
Thanks to the upgrades the new Bullitt has a top speed of 163 miles per hour - an 8 miles per hour increase versus the Mustang GT. According to Carl Widmann, Mustang chief engineer: "When making a Bullitt , there are certain things it absolutely must have".

After snapping a quick shot of yourself, the app generates five results that it believes look just like you and a percentage to give you an idea of how close it came to finding a duplicated depiction.

Various people expressed concern that Google was using the app to hoover up information about people's faces, and use those pictures for other purposes. Microsoft's What Dog app can identify and classify dogs based on photos uploaded to the app.

This google arts and culture app is pretty fantastic.
