Ford sued for alleged emissions cheating

Bosch is accused of developing software that enabled Ford to adjust such things as fuel levels and exhaust gas recirculation and air pressure rates while being tested for emissions by regulators including the Environmental Protection Agency and California Air Resources Board.

Ford fans have been asking for a fuel efficient diesel offering in the smaller, lighter, F-150 truck for a while now and Ford will now offer just such a truck in the 2018 model year. Peak torque is delivered from 1,750 rpm, contributing to the F-150's 11,400lb (5,171kg) towing capacity and 2,020lb (916kg) payload capacity, alongside targeted EPA-estimated 30mpg highway rating fuel-efficiency, according to US testing conventions.

A first for the F-150, the Power Stroke is denoted by this door mounted emblem.

The F-150 Power Stroke diesel shares quite a bit with its big sister Super Duty 6.7L Power Stroke, including a lot of engine technology and the very same Ford powertrain team.

"For every truck owner who wants strong fuel economy while they tow and haul, we offer a new 3.0-liter Power Stroke V-6 engine that dreams are made of", said Dave Filipe, vice president global powertrain engineering.

Willie Nelson Leaves Concert Early, Cancels Tour Dates Due to Illness
In a statement, the venue said, "Unfortunately, due to illness, Willie Nelson's performance concluded early". As a result of his illness, Nelson has canceled upcoming shows in Palm Springs, Las Vegas and Laughlin, Nev.

In 2011, Ford embarked on a marketing campaign that promised "class leading fuel economy and towing capacity" tested more rigorously than its competitors.

Compared to the Ram, the F-150 is only 4% more powerful, but its payload capacity is 23% higher (2,020 lb for Ford vs. 1,640 lb for FCA). While the Ford engine and the Land Rover powerplant share similar displacements, block architecture, and outputs (254 hp in the Land Rover vs. 250 hp in the Ford), engineers from Ford said the two engines have key differences. Retail customers can get the engine as an option on the 2018 F-150 Lariat, King Ranch and Platinum edition SuperCrew trucks with either a 5.5 foot or 6.5 foot bed configuration, and SuperCab trucks with a 6.5-food bed.

In more moderate driving and towing conditions, the F-150 engine control system backs off the fan load through a viscous coupler, closing down the two radiator shutters for improved aerodynamic efficiency and reduced parasitic engine loss.

"Ford vehicles do not have defeat devices", the company said.
