Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze coming to the Switch

No, Nintendo isn't calling it Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze POLAR EDITION or anything, just the plain old original title. During the January 11th Nintendo Direct, Nintendo showcased a new trailer featuring a brand new character and mode.

Originally released on the Wii U, the game lets players team up with buddies to master their moves, from Diddy Kong and his jet pack to the fresh addition of Dixie Kong and her spinning ponytail. He can even survive spikes with his trusty surfboard. This makes the Switch port all the more important, as it means that a much bigger audience has a chance to give it a shot.

Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze is out on May 4th. We'll have more information for you when it's available, but in the meantime, keep your fingers crossed for more ports of classic Donkey Kong and Zelda games. We know that. But ads help us pay the bills.
