TVS Apache RR 310 launches at Rs 2.05 lakh

Chennai-based TVS Motor Company has signalled its foray into the super-premium segment of the two-wheeler market with the global unveiling of its new bike TVS Apache RR 310.

TVS Motor Company has finally launched the Apache RR 310 at a sticker price of Rs. 2.05 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom) in the Indian market. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox.

The RR 310 also boasts of an acceleration of 0-60 kmph in under 3 seconds, 2.9 seconds to be exact.

Being one of the most crucial bikes for TVS, the company has put in some serious man hours, putting the RR through a number of tests like the wind tunnel test for aerodynamics and track tests on multiple circuits in order to flawless its riding dynamics and handling characteristics. The engine is reverse inclined and gets double overhead camshafts (DOHC) along with a hydraulic cam chain tensioner for lower maintenance. The TVS Apache RR 310 contended with any semblance of the Kawasaki Ninja 300, KTM RC 390, Benelli 302R and the Yamaha R3 which will be re-launched soon. TVS Apache RR 310 Flagship Sports Bike has been the long-awaited model. This facilitates a compact layout for an ideal power-to-weight ratio and better mass centralisation.

The bike is equipped with a race-inspired vertical speedo-cum-tachometer with 18 racing tell-tale diagnostics, and a comprehensive post-ride analysis. The motorcycle is fitted with first-in-class bi-LED twin projector head lamps for maximum reach and visibility.

The TVS Apache RR 310 shares a lot with the G 310 R when it comes to chassis and components. Michelin Street Sport tyres measuring 110/70 R17 front and 150/60 R17 rear are offered on the Apache RR 310.

TVS claims that the decades-long racing experience of TVS Racing has been used to develop the Apache RR 310 while the pilot tests have been conducted with real users whose feedback on the development and performance of bike were satisfying. Both, Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) and Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) system, will be available as standard on the TVS Apache RR 310. It is available in two colour options - Racing Red and Racing Black.

Radhakrishnan said, the premium bike segment was around 14 per cent (bikes in the 150cc to 500cc) of the total motorcycle category in the country and this particular segment was growing at 10 per cent every year.
